Funds from the sale of these ornaments assist Littleton Main Street, Inc.’s continuing downtown revitalization and historic preservation work. Opera House Room: Since 1895 the Opera House has been home to the Littleton police and fire departments, jail, district court, municipal offices and boards. In 1913 she created the cheerful Pollyanna, the world-famous character whose very name inspires an understanding of gladness and optimism. Sculpted by New Hampshire artist Emile Birch, and unveiled in 2002, the statue resides in front of the Littleton Public Library on Main Street. The bridge is located near the site of a dam that once powered the gristmill adjacent to the bridge. The bridge is 350 feet long and was built in 2004 by Winterset, Inc. Mt. Eustis Inn is just off Exit 41 of Interstate 93. Local Directions Take Interstate 93 (north or south) to Littleton Exit 41. Go north on Cottage Street toward the center of town. You will pass an Irving service station (I), then the Littleton Police Station (P), both on the left. One-fourth of a mile from Exit 41 you will see the Woodsville Guaranty Bank on the right--a three story wooden structure. Directly across from it is Mt. Eustis Road. Turn left onto Mt. Eustis Road and travel one-half mile. You will pass underneath I-93 and up a hill. At the top of the hill, on your right, is the entrance to Mt. Eustis Inn, number 338. Come up the hill road (six-tenths mile) and you are there. Littleton, NH Littleton, New Hampshire, is located in one of the most picturesque spots in New England. It borders the Connecticut River Valley between the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the White Mountain National Forest. To the east is Mt. Washington, the highest point in the Northeastern United States (and the home of the world's worst weather). To the south is Franconia Notch, year round playground and former home of the Old Man of the Mountains, a.k.a. Nathaniel Hawthorn's Great Stone Face. Easy access is provided via Interstates 91 and 93.
